Seth D. Rosenthal, CFA

Chief Investment Officer

Years of Experience: 25

Seth was previously the Bank Chief Investment Officer at Northern Trust. In his 16-year career at Northern, he oversaw $100 billion in global fixed income and money market assets across a range of duration and credit mandates. Prior to Northern Trust, Seth spent 10 years at the Bank of Montreal-Harris, holding various roles in Treasury and Credit Analytics. He holds the CFA charter and BBA from the University of Iowa.

John Gilmore

John previously worked for the Vanguard Group in the enterprise data science team. He oversaw work across asset classes, and on model portfolios. John was a former Army Officer, having served in the 1st Cavalry, 82nd Airborne and Corps of Engineers with deployments to Iraq and twice to Afghanistan. He holds a BS from the United States Military Academy West Point, an MS from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Prior to launching Academy Asset Management, Mr. Mims founded and leads Academy Securities, the first post-9/11 disabled veteran-owned and operated investment bank. Immediately prior to launching Academy Securities, Mr. Mims founded a San Diego, California based boutique real estate brokerage, mortgage, and property management firm. Previously, Mr. Mims served as a naval officer onboard the USS Sentry MCM-3 and the USS John Paul Jones DDG-53 guided missile destroyer enforcing UN sanctions against Iraq and taking part in the initial strikes into Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom. Mr. Mims holds a BS in Economics from the US Naval Academy and an MBA from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. Mr. Mims holds his FINRA Series 7, 24, and 63 licenses.

Anthony Graham

Chief Financial and Operating Officer

Mr. Graham oversees all treasury and general operations. Prior to founding Academy Asset Management with Chance Mims, Mr. Graham joined Academy Securities where he is Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Graham was a Partner at Academy Properties where he managed operations firm-wide. Previously, Mr. Graham worked for Lehman Brothers, Inc. as a Sales Associate in fixed income trading, specializing in bond and credit default swap transactions on behalf of institutional clients. Prior to this, he was a Commissioned Officer of the United States Navy and served as a Division Officer on board the USS John Paul Jones DDG 53 guided missile destroyer and USS Thach FFG 43 guided missile frigate where he completed two deployments to the Persian Gulf enforcing UN sanctions against Iraq. Mr. Graham is a graduate of the US Naval Academy and holds an MBA in Finance from Columbia Business School. He holds his FINRA Series 7, 24, 27, 52, 53 and 63 licenses.

Michael Boyd

Chief Compliance Officer

Mr. Boyd has extensive compliance experience, having served in varying compliance roles at several organizations including Schwab Capital Markets, Thales Fund, CJM Securities and Labrador R.I.T. His previous positions has included everything from providing firm-wide compliance leadership and supervisory authority to project-specific work. Mr. Boyd has experience in managing the entire FINRA membership process, handling inspections, managing CRD filings, monitoring all forms of communications and responding to ad hoc requests from regulators. His knowledge base includes fixed income, equities, futures, and options, as well as various derivative products on both the buy- and sell- sides. Mr. Boyd has ensured compliance with new and existing regulations including Dodd Frank. As a Naval Surface Warfare Officer, Mr. Boyd served on a naval tank landing ship with deployments in the Middle East and East Africa. Mr. Boyd graduated from the US Naval Academy with a BS in Engineering. He holds his Series 4, 7, 24, 53, 55, 63 and 79 licenses.
